6-Walks of ... What?

During the time of her coma I felt like I had a little extra time to sneak away for a walk. Leaving the sterile walls of the hospital felt rejuvenating as I stepped out into the Fall weather. There were often breezy warm days, where I could see the increase of colored leaves, knowing that the days would soon be getting cooler made me enjoy each moment even more.

During the first week and beyond, I started to practice massive GRATITUDE. I made a deal with myself that while I went for walks, I could only think of one tender mercy after another to be grateful for - I couldn’t use any twice. So the entire hour or so I walked, different thoughts of gratitude went through my mind. There were many things to be grateful for, even then!

I was so grateful for an amazing medical staff, grateful for modern medicine and natural health options, grateful for great family and friends that were blessing our lives through their acts of service, grateful that I could be there with her, grateful for her amazing spirit of light felt by everyone that entered, grateful that her drainage tube was able to keep up, etc...including every small miracle.

I called these my ‘Walks of Gratitude’!

My favorite way to add to my daily happiness and health is GRATITUDE! I try to think of as many things that I can to be grateful for in my day. This keeps me focused on all the little and big tender mercies in daily life! When this is our looking point, we end up seeing more and more good each day. Pretty soon we can see and feel the miracles that are around us constantly and then we automatically shift away from the negative thoughts. No matter what you are going through, there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for.

"I don't have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness - it's right in front of me if I'm paying attention and practicing gratitude."

I challenge everyone who reads this to try gratitude daily for two weeks and see how it changes your life! I am pretty sure you will be hooked!
