I have been reflecting on how this journey was made a lot lighter with so many family and friends. So many minutes were heart wrenching, heavy, tiring, taxing, and more... did I mention heart wrenching? Just knowing however, that others are thinking of you, supporting you, cheering you on was so incredible for Brianne to feel and see.
We had some good friends who invited us to an event at the Governor's Mansion, a way to get us out for the night, Dale and I needed time together outside the hospital.

I made sure we let Brianne know what Utah's Governor said, 👆once he heard her story that evening. He was kind to take the time amongst all else that he had going that night.

The looks on the guys faces above are priceless!! We need to keep them wondering.
"Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one."
-C.S. Lewis
Our nurse friend, Merry, from The Promise Hospital made subsequent visits to see Brianne including many times over the years. Merry was another special part of our journey, and she made sure to keep in contact the first couple of years by continuing to visit and check on Brianne, as did so many others. One thing we couldn't imagine was how many new friends we would make along this ride. Many nurses and doctors made this journey a little lighter and brighter for all of us but most especially Brianne. We knew and felt of all the heavenly angels, but these were like earthly angels attending along with those from the other side.
*We have since lost the contact information for Merry while switching around phones, so if anyone knows, please send it to us so we can reunite. We will even send you chocolate as a thank you!!

We have had many people join us during this journey, many family members and loved ones. These visits, phone calls, texts and more really brightened our days and nights, gave us hope and most importantly, love.
My sister Mary, her husband Justin and the kids came carrying activities to do with Brianne. They thought of every detail. As they strode through the door they brought with them activities, sweet conversation and of course, their wonderful smiles. Happiness ensued as these kinds of nights were made sweeter with so much love shared and lots of smiles.
There is something so healing from a smile.
